Josh Edelman is a Senior Program Officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on the Empowering Effective Teachers team.  His work focuses on teacher effectiveness with the Memphis City Schools and developing principal leadership tools for districts across the teacher effectiveness portfolio. Previously, Josh was the Deputy Chief of School Innovation for the DC Public Schools and the Executive Officer of the Office of New Schools (ONS) at Chicago Public Schools. He has also been a high school teacher in Massachusetts and California and a secondary school principal in Washington DC.
