New WHO Report Shows Incredible Progress; But Work Ahead

I wrote last month about the challenge of drug-resistant tuberculosis and how defeating TB will require better approaches to diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Today, the WHO released its Global Tuberculosis Report – an annual update on the worldwide
state of TB – and while the report shows that we’re making progress, it underscores just how much we need new tools to fight the epidemic.
