John Tyler is Professor of Education, Economics, and Public Policy at Brown University. His recent research focuses on teacher evaluation and measures of teacher effectiveness, and examinations of how teachers use student performance data to inform and
improve their practice. Recent publications include "The Effect of Evaluation on Teacher Performance" and "If You Build It Will They Come: Teachers Online Use of Student Performance Data." He has a doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and
a B.S. from Angelo State University.
