Mobile phones have not only changed the way we communicate but in many cases, they have changed the way many people relate to the world. Now the Lifelens Project has developed a Smartphone application that can diagnose malaria with a drop of blood, just like a tricorder in Star Trek (remember?!).
The diagnoses can be taken in remote areas where there is no Internet connection and is reportedly highly accurate. What a great and creative use of technology.
