Photo of the Day: Peer-to-Peer HIV Counseling in India

July 16, 2012

Basavaraj and Jayanthi take a break in Cubbon Park while on a visit to Bangalore, India. As an HIV+ couple they use their personal story in working with local non-profit MYRADA as HIV/AIDS peer educators. Peer-to-peer counseling strengthens outreach to communities that are unlikely to seek services on their own and makes the best use of peers' credibility and insider knowledge and their understanding of risk.
