Moms Crowdsource Ideas via Social Media

April 19, 2013

During the Global Newborn Health conference that was held this week in Johannesburg, South Africa members of the Social Good Moms and Global Team of 200 joined the robust newborn health conversation via Twitter. Once again, social media triumphed! The power of the medium transcended continents, brought communities together, and facilitated a passionate exchange of ideas.

The pinnacle of the conference was the launch of the Global Newborn Action Plan, a roadmap that will change and improve global newborn health and survival. Currently there is a call-out for all stakeholders to add insights and recommendations to the Global Newborn Action Plan ahead of its official launch in November 2013. As members of civil society Social Good Moms have begun sharing ideas about actions that should take priority in newborn survival.

Over the coming months more ideas will be shared by moms and added to the live interactive infographic below. All additions will automatically update in real time. To see the ideas that have already been shared simply touch the infographic and hover over the Twitter icons.

You can follow the conversation on Twitter at #NewbornActionPlan and also have your say at www.globalnewbornaction.org
