I met four-month-old Ibrahim in Lagos, Nigeria, where he just completed his full series of pentavalent vaccine – and he has a new immunization card to prove it. Without a collaboration between the government of Nigeria and the GAVI Alliance, this child
would be unprotected today. The vaccine, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B and Hib (which can cause infant meningitis), was launched in Nigeria last June.
