On Monday, Bill Gates spoke at the National Governors Association’s annual conference about “flipping the curve” in education. Over the last 40 years, spending on education has gone up year after year, but nationally, students haven’t done any better in school. We need to increase student performance, during a time when budgets will likely stay flat.
