David Bergvinson is deputy director within the foundation’s Agricultural Development team, overseeing efforts to leverage digital technologies to accelerate the development and delivery of products, services and knowledge to help millions of the world’s poorest farming families boost their productivity and incomes.

Bergvinson has worked in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, working at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center prior to joining the foundation. A native of Vancouver, Canada, he received his PhD in biology from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
