Jodi Haavig

Jodi Haavig joined the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2007.   Jodi works directly with communities to develop strong early learning systems through multiple investments including demonstration communities in White Center and Yakima, and school districts across Washington State.  Jodi is responsible for building and strengthening program partnerships across these investments to help grantees improve school readiness and long-term school success for young children, with a primary focus on work with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Early Learning and Thrive by Five Washington. 

Jodi is a third-generation Seattleite, and a graduate of the University of Washington.   She has extensive experience as a classroom teacher in preschool, K-12 and community college.  Jodi held program management positions in several local community organizations prior to pursuing a consulting career.  She came to the foundation following 15 years as a consultant working with school districts, community-organizations, local government and the foundation to further strong and strategic programs and investments.
