I am always excited to start talking with a potential partner about a new project. When it comes time to put pen to paper, our templates, tools, and processes can be confusing to navigate. This is true for us and is also something we’ve heard from many of our partners. We have started working with a new set of tools for making and managing grants that we hope will be streamlined and more intuitive.
However, through questions from a partner with whom I was working for our Enteric & Diarrheal Diseases strategy, it helped me and the foundation clarify and even refine the process further. Because our partner let us know its team was confused and why, we have been able to incorporate this critical feedback and design something that works better for both of us.
We now have a single, common approach across all our teams, and the new tools will be rolled out across the foundation in the coming months. You can learn more about our approach to shaping, funding, and managing grants.
This podcast episode is all about improving how we work, and I was happy to lend my voice and offer listeners some additional information on why the tools are being changed. The tools are not perfect and there will be more questions as more of our partners start to use them. I’m looking forward to receiving more helpful feedback.
